Biography

My name is Thomas E. Goodson. I live in Hartsville S.C. where I am a native. I have had an interest in the securities market since I was 10 years old. As a child I would read literally everything that was available concerning the subject. As a child, I worked in my father’s accounting business making copies of tax returns and was on the cutting edge of computers being born. Our firm was the first in South Carolina to provide computerized tax preparation. I finished Hartsville High School in 1969 and was president of my class. I graduated from Clemson University in 1973 with a BS degree in Accounting. After college I entered the Field Artillery of the US Army as an officer and later promoted to 1^st Lieutenant.  After my military service, I joined my father’s accounting business as an accounting practitioner. I was fortunate to work with my father for three years until his death in 1976. I took full responsibility of the accounting firm at age 25. During 1988, I met a financial planner, Frank Lee. Frank invited me through his Broker Dealer to sit for the Series 7 securities exam. Since 1988, I have worked for various broker dealers and currently work for LPL Financial. I am married to Anne A. Goodson and have two sons, Tom and Austin. Tom works with me and also has his series 7 license. Austin is a CPA and works with Price Waterhouse Accounting. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, fishing, gardening, camping and spending time with my twin granddaughters.

• I have worked in the family Accounting Business since I was 10 years old.
• I have helped many clients meet their financial goals through the securities industry since 1988.
• I have served on numerous boards over the years such as United Way, Chamber of Commerce.
• I served approximately 20 years as treasurer of Prestwood Country Club.
• I served approximately 18 years as President of Hartsville Cotillion Club.
• I have served approximately 13 years as a director of Mutual Savings and Loan.
• I have served approximately 20 years as the Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals for Hartsville.
• I am a deacon of my church, First Baptist Church in Hartsville S. C.
• I have been a member of various civic clubs which include; Kiwanis, Rotary and Sertoma.
• At Clemson, I was very active with ATO fraternity including a position of treasurer
